Description

Hi there, I'm Scarlett! Scarlett Quenette, LPCC I know it can be hard to ask for help, particularly from a stranger. But you’ll find that I’m a nurturing and calming presence, and despite my professionalism I’m not afraid to joke and laugh with you. The relationship is central to our work. My approach Though all therapists have preferred methods (mine are CBT and the psychodynamic approaches), I always adapt to meet the needs of the client and consider what you will best respond to. My focus This profession attracts individuals with strong interpersonal skills. As such, I take great pleasure collaborating with a diverse range of people. I connect well with the LGBTQI community, cultural minorities, and creatives. I address various mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. My communication style One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is empathy - the ability to understand how you're feeling. I've found that clients respond to this with an increased confidence to open up. As they do so, they discover that I'm nurturing and non-judgmental. It creates a deeply supportive and safe place to be vulnerable. My journey to mental healthcare Before I was a therapist I spent over a decade in the IT sector, working as a technical writer and process analyst. I decided to switch gears and pursue my lifelong passion for helping people. It was the most rewarding career move I ever made. My goals for you Initially we'll spend some time getting to know each other and you can tell me your hopes and goals for therapy. Together we'll face your concerns, explore your strengths, and break long-term goals into manageable, achievable steps. I'll highlight patterns of behavior that may result in distress and get real curious about your past. Often this can reveal why we do the things we do, and be a catalyst for change.
